The article presents the theoretical and methodological foundations of state regulation of
sustainable development of regions, analyzing the imbalances and existing problems in regional
development. It also describes the definitions and approaches of the “non-interventionists”,
“adapters”, and “radical reformers” within the theories of state regulation of regional development.
Additionally, the article outlines modern approaches to ensuring the sustainable development of
regions.
