##article.abstract##

The rapid diffusion of artificial intelligence (AI) and the growing influence of global ranking systems such
as QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education World University Rankings are transforming strategic
management practices in higher education institutions. This article develops an AI-enabled strategic management model
that links key AI use cases—including forecasting, resource allocation, and research strategy—to ranking-relevant
performance mechanisms, supported by international case studies demonstrating measurable institutional outcomes.
Focusing on Uzbekistan, the study identifies regulatory constraints and policy opportunities, proposing a phased
implementation roadmap (2026–2029) with governance safeguards and scenario-based planning tools to enhance
institutional competitiveness.
