This article is devoted to the production potential of mountainous and highland regions
related to the development of agriculture. In this study, economic and ecological characteristics
of mountain and sub-mountain regions, available resources for agriculture and methods of their
effective use are analyzed. In addition, the article examines the new directions of production
necessary to increase the agricultural potential in these regions. Research results play an important
role in effective organization of agricultural production in the region, rational use of resources
and economic development. The article also provides recommendations and strategic directions
for creating new jobs for local residents, strengthening agricultural infrastructure, and ensuring
environmental sustainability.
